FRENCH TRAINERS AND RIDERS IN WAR. Many jockeys and others connected with training stables in this couutry have given their services to the army in various capacities in the present war, and trainers and jockeys from the famous French racing quarters at Maisons-Latlitts are assisting our allies at the scenes of hostilities across the Channel. Tims amongst the trainers DOkhuysen Baron Maurice do Rothschilds trainer, who is a naturalized Frenchman, Haoul, Barbler, Bariller, Cob-leutss. Xoel Got, Heslop interpreter. Portelln, and Rabier are with the French army, II. Shields assists in ambulance work and the distribution of food for the poor at Malsons-Eatlitte. The jockeys G. Sauval, Wallon, Barat, Alleniatid, Douiuen, and the two Moreaus are soldiers. Alec Carter, reported killed, who has as his mount the French crack, j Lord Ixiris, has been with the . cavalry. L. Robert ; is in Brittany wi his wounded- son Maurice. Rene Sauval is a civil guard at Maisons-Lafiitte. ahd , Berteaux is doing ambulance work. The trainers now at the little town on the Seine include I. Itelff, Snyder, Adele, Wallace Davis, Jog Davis, Dutton, liurch, Gildou, Lawrence. Leigh and Ruddock. Mr. Frank Jay Gould arid hi$ family, who had remained at Maisons since the outbreak of the war. have left for their -stud farm at the Chateau St. Dives, Deauville. W. Duke is also at Deau-ville.
