JOCKEY TED RICE KILLED Succumbs to Concussion of Brain After Fall at Jamaica Saturday When McKee Smashed Fence. NEW YORK, N. T., Oct, S. There was a fatal ending to Saturdays racing at Jamaica. McKee, the three-year-old owned by C. A. Stoneham, bolted through the inner rail an eighth from the finish of the last race. The horses shoulder was broken and he had to be. destroyed. Jockey Ted Rice fell heavily, sustaining concussion of the brain, from which he died on his way to St Marys Hospital in Jamaica. Jockey Rice formerly lived in Chicago and rode abroad for several years. His funeral will be held Tuesday morning from his late home at 17 Ray street, Jamaica, The dead riders mother and father arrived from Indiana today. The body may be taken West for burial.
