SIMS outbroke the others and, taken under restraint when outrun and, coming on the outside of the leader, drew away at the end. CLAREMONT showed high speed from the start and, saving ground, outlasted CHARON at the end. The latter closed ground under urging on the outside. BLACK AND BLUE slipped through on the inside entering the stretch and finished on his own courage. MORHEART had no mishaps. WHIPPER CRACKER dropped out of contention early. TWENTY GRAND dwelt slightly at the start and was outrun early, but saved ground and. coming to the outside entering the stretch, finished with a rush under pressure and wore down CLOCK TOWER in the final sixteenth. The latter displayed high speed throughout, saved ground and had no mishaps, but tired in the last sixteenth. CAMPER, close up throughout, responded well when called upon and finished fast. POLYDORUS, outrun to the stretch turn, closed gamely. CONDESCEND, closest to the pacemaker, quit when put under pressure. GLASTONBURY was outrun. The latter came through on the inside turning for home and finished gamely. ZEVAR, on the outside of the leader, tired under pressure. WILD WEST raced well. HERKIMER showed a good performance.
