RELLINE took the lead at once and. racing well, held sway to the end. JOHN R. raced close up throughout and lasted to hold CASH PLAY. The latter acted badly at the barrier, but quickly raced into contention after being last to start and raced well on the outside throughout the stretch, but could not get up. PERE NOEL tired badly in the last eighth. ATCASA could not keep up. McKENNA lost little time getting to the front and, holding on well when challenged by LE FLORE in the final eighth, scored in a driving finish. LE FLORE challenged gamely in the stretch and was pressing the winner at the end. BETTY BUX raced forwardlv and was going well at the end. WAR NYMPH tired in the last eighth. BETTY BUX fell after crossing the finishing line and TURN OVER fell over her. MODERN TIMES came with a rush on the outside in the stretch and overtook BOURBON MAID in the closing strides. BOURBON MAID drew away from the others entering ths stretch and opened up a good lead, but her rider appeared overconfident near the finish and she was unable to resist the challenge of the winner. RAMUS made up ground in the last quarter. MY COMPANION tired after racing prominently for half a mile. OVERBOARD quit badly in the last eighth. HELEN VIRGINIA fell on the far turn and CHICLERO foil over her. SIR RAOUL was forced to pull up to avoid going down when the accident occurred. FRED ALMY raced to the middle of the track on the stretch turn, but headed the others when straightened out and won easily. PRINCE SWEEP saved many lengths by hugging the rail on the final turn and finished well. FORTUNA MIA closed a gap and was going fastest of all at the end. SIBERIA raced into a long lead, then bolted to the outside fence on the stretch turn, but continued gamely despite the loss of ground. WATAUGUA could not keep up.
