BETTY FARRELL WINS AGAIN Registers Third Victory in Four Starts at Mount Royal in Taking the Sherbrooke Handicap. MONTREAL, Que., July 10.— M. Chaplins Betty Farrell, five-year-old daughter of North Star III. — Sweep Park, making her fourth start of the meeting, registered her third victory here when she took the Sherbrooke Handicap, feature offering of the tenth days program at the Mount Royal course. Sand Runner, racing for N. Morena, raced to second place position a head back and six lengths before J. U. Grattons Chrys-mute. There was a slight delay at the start caused by the unruly actions of Diaquri and Attribute, but starter Richey had them away in good order. In the opening furlong, Diaquri went into a two lengths lead followed by Betty Farrell and Sand Runner. They raced in this order down the back stretch and around the turn. Entering the stretch Diaquri began shortening strides and Betty Farrell went into a length and one-half lead. Sand Runner moved up fast in the closing furlong and was slowly wearing down the leader as the finish line was reached. Meanwhile Chrysmute, which had been shuffled back at the start, steadily improved her position next to the inner rail, closed a good gap, but was six lengths behind the leading pair at the finish. The winner raced the six furlongs in 1:12%, the fastest time at the meeting. A good-sized crowd was on hand to witness th« days sport and the track was lightning fast. A surprise came with the running of the fourth, when V. Carmichaels Justold, repeating her performance of June in Ottawa, led from start to finish and returned better than 20 to 1 in the machines. Ridge Lady raced to second place, a length and one-half back and three lengths before Social. Ridden by G. Horn, Justold was away fast, sprinted into the lead going to the first turn, drew into a commanding lead down the back stretch, was taken in hand, but had to be ridden out through the last furlong, when she again faltered. Ridge Lady raced forwardly, closed with a rush through the stretch, but could not reach the leader. Social tired in the last quarter mile, after forcing the pace and just held Air King safe for third place. ______ 1 — _
