BROCTON PURSE TO KILMER Narragansett Park Feature Taken Takenby by Sun Capture Winner Well WellRated Rated by Jockey Smith PAWTUCKET R L May 7 Sun Cap ¬ ture from the Willis Sharpe Kilmer string coupled with Best Beau from the Fairfields Stable scored the first victory of the meet ¬ ing for the Binghamton sportsman and breeder in accounting for the Brocton Purse This threeyearold offering featured the sport at Narragansett Park today The event attracted ten at six furlongs furlongsThe The Sun Briar horse triumphed at the direct expense of Ocean Roll the favorite racing for C T Grayson C Andrade HI a Bright Land and Natty Boy came from far back through the stretch run to finish third and fourth respectively Minstrel Show went to the post as the second choice but failed utterly after being restrained early The Royal Minstrel colt finished back in the ruck leading only one of the com ¬ pany over the line Ocean Roll set out to make a runaway affair of the test Seabo steadied him along as he sped through the back stretch well out in command Sun Cap ¬ ture always was nearest in pursuit of the pacemaker after going the first few strides Smith was biding his tir e on Sun Capture while Seabo when swinging from the back stretch permitted the Grayson gelding to increase his advantage advantageMidway Midway of the turn it hardly seemed pos ¬ sible that Ocean Roll could be overtaken but as the stretch was reached Sun Cap ¬ ture was asked for improved speed and it was instantly forthcoming The Sun Briar colt had Ocean Roll headed a stride or o beyond the furlong pole to increase his com ¬ mand to a half length at the finish Ocean Roll did not give up without a struggle and his advantage over Bright Land was three lengths
