DISQUALIFICATION AT JAMAIG Maetall Set Back After Finishing FinishingSecond Second to Great Union Bold BoldTurk Turk and Gayset Benefit NEW YORK N Y May 7 A disqualifi ¬ cation occurred in the best offering at Ja ¬ maica today when the Maemere Farm sta ¬ bles Maetall after finishing second to Mrs E Graham Lewis Great Union in the five furlongs of the Melville Purse was set back for having fouled the Paragon Stables Bold Turk at the head of the stretch By the ruling Bold Turk was moved into the place and third went to R A Smiths Gay set which had finished fourth fourthThis This was the best race of a card that was composed of overnight events and it marked up a second victory for Great Union in his three starts at the meeting The son of Sir Gallahad III My Flag carried all the pace but he was being so closely pressed by Maetall at the finish that it took a photo ¬ graph to pronounce him the winner As a matter of fact there were many demands for the camera during the afternoon for it was thrilling sport that was furnished furnishedIn In this race Great Union went into an early lead and Bold Turk went after him closely but he was holding the Valorous colt safe as he continued to show the way racing along on the inside Then as the stretch turn was approached Sarno brought Mae ¬ tall up on the outside of the pair and as he drew alongside he came over to pinch Bold Turk off badly It was for this he was disqualified After Bold Turk wa crowded back Mae ¬ tall fought it out gamely with Great Union for the final furlong and the duel took the pair of them out six lengths before Bold Turk The foul was so apparent the stewards lost no time in ruling the dis ¬ qualification on the complaint of Gilbert who rode Bold Turk TurkThe The race was run in 59 Taut Great Union was doing his best at the end endThere There came another stirring finish and a call for the camera in the mile and a six ¬ teenth at the end of the card and this time it was to split out Philip Biebers Beautiful and G N McNaughtons Chilca Well back of them Mrs Ethel D Jacobs Grand Jester was third
