Momo Flag Registers First Score of Year at Suffolk EAST BOSTON. Mass.. June 20.— Finding the soft footing to his advantage today at Suffolk Downs, Adelard Lamoureauxs Momo Flag, winner of the Endurance Handicap series and the Exterminator Stakes last year, scored a thrilling triumph in the featured Middlesex Purse. Cleverly ridden by Willie Balzaretti, who was rounding out a saddle double, Momo Flag reached the end of the one mile and a sixteenth test a head before Miss Ruth Howies Clansman, second by two and a half lengths over Oakhill Stables favored Boy Soldier. Momo Flag, who shouldered 114 pounds in the headliner, skipped the distance over the muddy track in 1:48 and no better than fourth choice in the field of six starters paid .60 straight. The Middlesex marked Momo Flags first successful effort of the 1945 campaign and he received a nice ovation when he returned to the winners circle. Despite threatening weather which prevailed right up until post time for the Middlesex a throng of 16,252 witnessed the mid-week program.
