Thyn Rhyne Makes Good As Dade Park Favorite Passes De Silvia in Stretch To Register by Two Lengths DADE PARK, Henderson, Ky., Aug. 20. Today was Jockeys Guild Day here and nearly 5,000 racing fans turned out for a well-balanced program. The sport, on the fourteenth day of the 29-day session, was offered under ideal weather conditions and, While the Sterling Purse and the Jockeys Guild Purse topped the seven-race card, there was much interest in the third, a five-furlong dash for two-year-old maidens, and in which seven went postward. Thyn Rhyne, a good looking dark brown son of Jett-Jett sporting the silks of Mrs. J. Keene, was installed an odds-on favorite to leave the ranks of non-winners and the colt, racing to expectations, closed with a sensational burst that brought him across the line of finish by a comfortable margin over De Silvia, from the stable of J. W. Deaton. Cen Tack finished third. Following in their wake were Club Choice, Kanner Kole and Golden Blossom. Shuffled back at the start, Thyn Rhyne trailed during the early running as Club Choice, De Silvia, Golden Blossom and Cen Tack battled it out for the lead. They raced that way the first three furlongs, with the favorite moving into fifth position, but nearly five lengths off the pace. Straightened out for the drive the Jett-Jett colt, under strong handling at the head of the stretch by W. D. Lucas, responded to the whip and as they reached the final eighth the ultimate winner was; lapped on De Silvia and Cen Tack while the early leader was dropping back. During the late stages Thyn Rhyne drew away quickly, with Lucas having a snug hold of the winner the last 20 yards. At the end the favorite was two lengths before De Silvia while the latter had a length margin over the weakening Cen Tack. After many chances, including 20 starts this year, Master Khan finally left the ranks of maidens. The three-year-old son of Old Master made every post a winning one in the six furlongs first race, winning bynearly four lengths from A Dixie Stand. The latter was a neck before Mickey Wrack. Harry Holcomb had the winner off swiftest and after holding the gelding in reserve the first three-sixteenths, drew away entering the stretch and coasted the remainder of the distance. The second race, also at six furlongs, brought another capacity field postward and the winner was furnished by William Roberts, whose Lady Lureen scored a clean cut decision, easily defeating Kitty-Co-mooch and Jes Tack.
