UPSETTER, hustled along early to gain the lead, came to the inside after turning back BROOMMAKER on the final turn and -gradually drew out under continued urging. SHED A TEAR was never a great distance back, raced wide and could not reach the winner. BROOMMAKER held on fairly well after forcing the issue to the early -stretch. ROSE POLL was never a serious contender. PLUCKY WILLIE was through early. MR. HURRY broke alertly but immediately dropped back. GEM followed in close pursuit of the leaders, raced on the outside and under strong handling wore down GET BUSY in midstretch. The latter turned back SARA-CHANA after going a half-mile, saved ground to the final turn where he drifted out slightly but held on stubbornly. SHINY PETER found his best stride loo late. FUENTE faltered after making a bold bid from the inside on entering the stretch. BATTLE MOUNT moved up menacingly on the outside pounding the second turn but had little left when the real test came. SKY FAITH, forced to steady while blocked along the inside for the first half mile, moved out between horses on leaving the backstretch, continued in that position when called upon entering the .stretch and wore down the leaders with a rush a furlong away. CONDAMION, slow to start,, raced wide while advancing and appeared to hang slightly in the final drive. FIFE AND DRUM faltered after making a menacing rally on the second turn. CHARLESTON flattened out after being hard used early to wear down, the leaders. PINETUM was always far back. MI-MARIGOLD was used up in vying for the early lead. ETERNAL QUEST made the pace while in hand, raced slightly wide early and gave way suddenly in the late stages. LOFTY LEGION, unhurried in the early running, moved up boldly on the outside rounding the second turn, was bumped off stride while engaging the leaders in the early stretch and failed to recover. ANTHONY C. raced with the top flight from the start, was on the outside and swerved out sharply while tiring in the early stretch. UNCLE LEO was never a factor. CHANO was used up early. The latter, held in rdserve for six furlongs, moved through between horses on entering the stretch to wrest command nearing the final furlong, but was not quit good enough. MELPET saved ground and faltered in the late stages. FLAMENCO II. flattened out after making a strong bid on the stretch turn. JETFAST pulled up lame RANGE CARDINAL was used up in vying for the early tead. ONWARD showed speed for six -furlongs and tired. DRIVING EASY refused at the start and unseated her rider.
