IRENE WOODS GOOD BACK BACKIt Backbit It was a pleasant afternoon yesterday and a crowd of 4000 was at Ideal Park It saw some excellent racing Four of the events went to favorites favoritesIrene favorites Irene Woods noble win and the Pinkey Pinkeye Potter Semper Simper Lex Alex finish were the features Both brought out sharp expressions of approval approvalIrene approval Irene Woods is the best filly at the track and her race yesterday put the red badge of class upon her Gaywood Gawped rode Irene Woods and she was well backed Shortly after the start Lollie Lillie Eastin Easton bumped into and knocked Irene out of her stride and at the half mile ground it looked as though she was hopelessly beaten But Master Caywood Cawed perservered persevered with her and the game till picking up her horses one by one came on like a lady and won handily on the end endPinkey enginery Pinkey Pinkeye Potters win was a pretty one He and Semper Simper Lex Alex raced head and head the entire route The finish was sparkling and Potter won on courage and general merit meritTradition Tradition and Cora Havill Hail also had close calls in their races Chas Cougle Coulee got 15 to 1 against his good filly Miss Ames and with a good stable commission on her she won in the fast time of 101 3
