Tower of Candles displayed a flight of speed that was amaziDg, was much the best and pulling up in the last quarter. Bright Phoebus, away slowly and pocketed to the stretch, nearly fell at the half and came through liko a flash at tho end and ran a remarkable race. Hainault displayed superior early speed, was lucky throughout and was an easy third. Mountebank was closing up strongly at the end. The others were boaten off and outclassed. Matt Hogan, lucky and skillfully ridden, wore down the leaders in the last furlong and won going away. Tyranus worked a rough journey and finished fast through the stretch. Rubino displayed sudden improvement, forced the pace to the last furlong and Btnck to his work well. Mi Reina got away poorly and closed a tremendous gap from the half in and finished with a sensational rush. Hungarian was nearly left and improved his position steadily. Pat Morrissey finished well. Cascino secured a lucky start and under a skillfol ride forced the paco throughout and drew away fast in the final furlong. He is a coming crack. Planet got away poorly, ninde a wide stretch turn and finished like a flash under a weak ride. Tocolaw got away running, displayed brilliant speed and stamina and will beat the best later on. Resigned made up much ground from a bad start. Dolly Grey is a pronounced quitter. Red Man bolted on the turn and jumped tho outside fence. Cascine, show, 1 to 4. Planet, show, 1 to 3. Ishtar secured a lucky start and made the running at a slow pace and then finished fast with an advantage of several lengths start in the final sprint. Corrigan galloped along in behind tho winner to the stretch and appeared like the winner when a furlong out, but tired pnd was evidently short. Lord Badge, away badly, raced under a choking pull for six furlongs, but failed to come on at the end and was unlucky and carried wide, but ran in much improved form. Huachuca fell in behind the leaders to the stretch, where he flashed through while making the last turn, and Minders vigorous finish won for him. Mocorito was ridden with bad judgment, followed Sad Sams terrific pace closely, ontrunnino him on the turn and going very wide, finished fast under an inefficient ride and was easily best. She is in great form. Jarretiere dOr, nearly left, closed a tremendous gap early, and when a furiong out seemed dangerous, but unexpectedly tired right at the end. Esherin waited close up to tbo stretch and then came away from the others as if they were anchored and was easily second best. The Pride, away badly, raced quickly into prominenco and held on remarkably well at the distance and is steadily improving. Frank Woods, nearly left, trailed last to tho stretch, where he finished with his old time ruBh and showed sudden improvemant. Bill Massie was bumped at the start and repeatedly interfered with and had no chance with a bad ride. Albert Enright fell away after going a good half.
