All tangled up at the start, Cunningham took him the overland route and, coming strongly in the stretch run, managed to get up in the final strides. Blanche Sheppard ran a good race, and under a more vigorous ride would have won. Dnnsbro began slowly, but finished fast. Nannie J. quit in the final eighth. Faith Ward was a false alarm. Pat Garrett, under a patient ride, finished well and was as much the best of the others. Omelia swung wide, losing ground which she could not make up in the stretch run. Hassman, off well in motion, showed a good turn of speed and won with plenty to spare. King of Diamonds had. no mishaps. Juniper did all that was expected of him. Hermoso cut himself so as to make him. practically helpless. Crisscross tore both her hind plates off at the start and cat herself severely on"the right hind leg. Overweights Miss Louiso, 4 pounds. Suave quickly raced into a contending position and, assuming command at the stretch bend, came fast in the stretch run, winning with plenty to Bpare. Pearl Mendel found her impost too heavy. Devereux ran well and will do in the mud. Frank Kesinger could not handle the weight. Fairy Dell was standing tho reverse way of the track when the barrier shot up. Corrected weights Lady Lusk, 102.
