Brush By displayed the most speed at all stages, went to the front without much effort and easily came away in the stretch. Laton finished on the extreme outiide, was under a hard drive all of the last quartor and out-gamed Lady Mistake and Fair Lass when it came to a finish. Lady Mistake ran well, but was tiring at the ena, and the same applies to Fair Lass. Roll Call was in the middle of the track in the deep going all the way. She is worth remembering. Dr. Scharff got off running on the path, raced Paul Creyton to defeat in the first half and stood off a challenge from Optional in the stretch run. The latter closed a big gap, but tired when it came to a hard drive. Paul Creyton tired in the last furlong. Apple Sweet bad the path at the post, but Robbins took her back in the first furlong and cut across to the inside at the turn into the homestretch and then pulled out to the middle of the track. Sir Roche was off running on the outside, kept the path all the way, finiihed gamely and had enough left to stall off Dick Bernards challenge at the end. The latter came fast, but tried to bear in in the last sixteenth and Redfern had to stop riding hard. McGonigle looked big when going to the post. He showed a lot of early speed, but tired as if short. Arnold K. was practically left at the post. Scratched Gus Heidorn, 113. Sir Roche, show, 4 to 5. Dick Bernard, show, 8 to 5. When the barrier was released it found all but the first four away all taDgled up. Lindsey rushed Mrs. Frank Foster to the front and keeping her on the path all the way, was never in trouble and had much left at the finish. Telamon showed improvement but was under a hard drive all of the last furlong. If You Dare showed speed, but tired as if short. Scully took Marie Bell off the path into the deep going in the first quarter. Philo was as good as left. So was Amigari. Scratched 37C672 Andes, loo. Gin Spray was on the extreme outside for the first mile and was crowded back a couple of times on the backstretch. He carried The Way down into the heavy going in the stretch run and outgamed him when it came to a hard drive. The Way was hard ridden all the way and ran to his best form. Erne was crowded back at the start, but made up a lot of ground and finished fast. Satin Coat made up ground in the final quarter. Ceylon ran a fairly good race. Vesuvia showed early speed. Overweights False Lead. 1 pound. Gin Spray, show, 2 to 1. The Way, show, 3 to 5. Erne, show. 1 to 2. Simoon, show, 3 to 5. SIXTH RACE 1 Mile. Purse 5400. 4-year-olds and upward. Benson Caldwell was off well in motion and Fuller kept him on the outside in the good going all the way. He showed a lot of speed and easily drew away in the stretch. Little Scout got away ail tangled up, but closed a big gap, finished fast and outgamed Nyx in the final drive. Nyx showed much speed for over three-quarters, but tired in the last furlong.
