Skillfully Tiandled she laid well up with the leaders from the start and came away like a flash when straightened out in the stretch. Pat Oran improved his position steadily from an indifferent start. Marineuse closed up a big gap from a bad start and was probably best. Estado was favored by the cuppy going. Our Pride was crowded back in the early stages, made up much ground and finished like a whirlwind at the end. Miss Nettie ran a good race. Ravelena, with a lucky start and clear sailing, was just beaten out after a terrific drive and the race stamps her above the average caliber. Rose Farr, away badly, raced with a long and apparently winning lead for the first quarter, but was tiring badly at the end. Maroma was always outrun. Captain Forsee was green, but on appearance promises well. Overweights Maroma, 1 pound. Sweet Tone, show, out. Ravelena, show, 1 to 5. Rose Fair, show, 1 to 2. THIRD RACE 1 Mile. Start fair. Won easily; second the same. George Dewey, lucky at the start and skillfully ridden, was reserved for the first six furlongs and made good with a fast rush in the last furlong. Choteau, away poorly, worked a rough early journey and was closing fast at the end. Cougar beat the barrier and made the most of his advantage. Excessively urged to beat the early pacemaker he fell away in the stretch and came again in the last fifty yards. Was probably short and can beat this kind. Donu ran a good race. The Miller was pocketed and seriously interfered with on the backstretch. Propeller, away badly, raced into a long lead in the first quarter displaying amazing speed, but failed to stay. Ulloa found the going tiring and wants a fast track. Scratched 37036 The Scot, 103. Overweights Cougar, 3 pounds; Ulloa, 1; Wieland, 2; Fondo, 1. George Dewey, show, 2 to 1. Choteau, show, 2 to 1. Horatius. away badly, closed up a big gap, but fell away unexpectedly on the far turn and came again with a rush. Beana, fresh and good and favored by the slow track, waited on the pacemakers to the stretch where she wore them down after a long drive, winning in the last stride. Expedient, crowded back on the first turn and carried out on the stretch turn by Beana finished like a whirlwind, going fastest of all at the end. Elfonse was choked in an effort to place him, otherwise would have won and was caught napping at the end. Sunello runs better in sloppy going. Lena forced the pace and tired in the last quarter.
