Won driving; second easily. Zibia displayed great speed throughout, but had to be driven out to the last ounce to stall off Orontes challenge at the end. The latter ran an excellent race and was much the best, but had to make up too much ground from a poor send-off. Several watches caught his six furlongs in 1:123. Theory ran well but tired fast when the pinch came. Milkirk ran to his best form and was easily best of the others. Jerry Lynch ran a good race and finished going fast. Lady Free Knight fell away badly beaten when a furlong out. Little Scout was not called on until just after turning for home, where he went to the front in a few strides and won as his rider pleased. Bondage finished going fast, running next to the inside. He was slightly interfered with by the tiring Nitrate at the last sixteenth but not enough to affect he result. C. B. Campbell faltered when the pinch came. He ran to his best form and should be hard to beat in mud In his present fit condition. Nitrate was thoroughly beaten when a furlong out after showing his usual turn of speed Flying Torpedo ran an impressive race and is at his best just now. Oklahoma Belle ran out at the turn into the backstretch. Scratched— 3S721 Felix Bard, 98; 3SS49:The Lady, 97; 3SS01 Potheen, 106. Little Scout, show, 1 to 3. Bondage, show, 2 to 5. C. B. Regan ran in close company to the final eighth, where the former came away after a little shaking up. John J. Regan showed speed throughout, but swerved toward the center of the track when opposite the last sixteenth post and was well beaten at the time. Rankin outstayed Scotch Plaid in the last sixteenth struggle, both finishing going fast. Huzzah came with a rush at the end. Major Tenny met with much interference in the last quarter. He can do better. Dodie S. and Annie Thompson showed early speed Sarah Maxim ran nowhere near to her best form. Scratched— 3S801Potheen, 103. Hildreth entry, show, out. John J. Regan, show, 2* to 1. The latter ran well, but faltered palpably when called lor a final effort. Gin Spray showed improvement and outstayed Goldaga in the last six-eighth on struggle. Compass showed scant speed and can do much better Zonne, show, 8 to 5. Omdurman, show, out. Gin Spray, show, 7 to 10.
