Rossmond ran a good race and was in the best going in the middle of the tratk all the way and Hicks took no chances with him at the finish, but rode him out. Fair Lady Anna ran her race, but was not quite good enough for the winner. Grand Mary was easily the best of the others. John J. Regan was outrun in the first part of the race, but closed a big gap and finished fast. Scratched 42032 Barkelmore, 103; 42625 Sinner Simon, 103; 42571 Special Tax, 100. Rossmond, show, 2 to 5. Allista was off well in motion, opened up a gap in the first furlong and was never closely approached thereafter. Alma Dufour did not show her usual speed and ran much below her best form. Phillips shook her up while rounding the far turn and she closed up some ground, but failed to respond with her usual dash. Lida Leib finished gamely and was easily the best of the others. Start good. Won easily; second the same. J Fonsoluca won as if clearly best at the weights. Hoiller sent him after the leaders while 7 rounding the far turn and after racing with Bardolph and Judge Himes he came away on 1 i , the far turn and easily held his advantage to the end. Judge Himes was outrun in the , first part of the race, but closed up on Bardolph and Tarn oShanter on the far turn and J held second place without much trouble. Bardolph was used too much in the first part of 1 the trip in racing with Tarn oShanter and tired. The latter quit badly. Faraday Jr. went up to Cevlon after taking the ninth jump and the two fought it out closely until near the hurdle in the homestretch. Faraday Jr. cleared this with a good lead J and Ceylon was not able to catch him on the Hat. Ceylon was probably used too much m the first part of the journey and tired under his weight. Start good. AVon driving; second easily. Cheboygan joined Judge Denton on the turn and outstayed him in a long, hard drive to the finish, Munro outriding Austin at the end. Judge Denton showed the most early speed and stcod a hard drive gamely, but was weakly ridden at the finish. Chief Deputy ran a good race and was well handled. The Hebrew made up ground and finished fast. Trovator ran poorly. Onress quit badly after showing early speed. Scratched 42G45IOudon, 107; 42023 Kern, 103. Overweights War Paint, 14 pounds. . . Chickadee took the good going in the middle of the track right after the start and cut out the pace She carried Antolee very wide when turning for home, while Adelante cut th corner and saved ground. Chickadee and Antolee fought it out on the extreme outside all through the stretch, the former drawing away in the closing strides. Adelante finished gamely and got second place in the closing strides. Antolee did her best throughout. The other three cut no serious figure in the race. .
