TEXAS STATE OFFICIALS ATTEND RACES. Dallas, Texas, October 10. Tills was a glorious day and a big crowd was out to see much improved racing. Unless it rains tonight the harness races will be resumed tomorrow, which will make the first running race at 3:15. "Favorites fared better today than they have and with a drying out track from now will be much in evidence. The northern racing people might take a lesson from the management here. The opening day Governor Lanham was on the grounds and today the coming governor. Thomas Campbell, was at the races and saw one race from the judges enclosure. Both men were introduced to the judges, starter and horsemen, so that they might learn by contact that there are many men of honor and refinement among them and that they are not a baud of roving gypsies, as some professional reformers would have people believe. A day lias been set for next week, when the entire legislature will be on the grounds. Sap Antonio lias taken the entrance fee off its purses and will give .00 purses. The best of the horses here will ship there.
