TO IMPROVE VIRGINIA HUNTERS. The Virginia Hunters Improvement Association was organized at a meeting of horsenicĀ«i iu the New Willard Hotel in Washington last week. The memtiers of the association, embracing many of the most prominent people in the stale and KfeV sentative of all sections of Virginia, are pledged to effortn to promote the breediug of hunters and maintain this breed of horses iu that popularity it has enjoyed in Virginia for so many years. The association proposes to accomplish this end by maintaining a register of Virginia hunters; by placing thoroughbred btallions at many points in the state and by offering prizes for the best Virginia-bred hunter colts of registered stock. The association is capitalized at 0,000. and will tie incorporated in a few days. Following are the officers: Harry Groouie of Warrenton, president; Dr. James Kerr of Washington and Warrenton, vice-president; Charles Griffin Herring of Harrisonburg, secretary-treasurer.
