BROOKLINE MEETING A BIG SUCCESS. The members of the Brookllne Country Club are highly elated at the success of their annual race meeting at Clyde Park, near Boston. The dates were June 13, 15 and 17, and it is reported that the crowds in attendance were the largest In the history of the organization. The Grand Annual Steepfechase, the big feature of the closing day, was won by Mr. McCann. Colonel Robert Neville s good horse ran the about two and one-half miles in 4:47, which is a new record for the course. It was held by the stewards of this meeting that Guardian, the seven-year-old son of Protection Bentling, is not a bona : fide hunter. In that he has been campaigned as a racing tool, and he was not permitted to start in the race for hunters.
