NEW CIRCUIT FOR THE SOUTHWEST. Plans Arc Beincj Made to Open Aunust 15 and to Close November 30. Dallas, Texas. June 24. Plans are working for the formation of a Southwestern Bacing Circuit, embracing ten cities in Texas, Oklahoma and Lou-siana and covering a period of three and a half months. President Bachler anil Secretary Flowers of the Texas Thoroughbred Association are in charge of the matter and within a fortnight it is expected that a positive announcement of the details and dates will lie made. The end to which the promoters of the new circuit are now working is to have tilt season open at Ennis August 15 and close at Beaumont November 30, the meetings to take place in the following order and to distribute among the horsemen the following amounts: Ennis, Texas, one week $ !,100 Greenville, Texas, one week 0,000 Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, eight days 25,000 Shrcreport, Ixiuisiana, six days 20,000 Fort Worth, Texas, eight days 25,000 Dallas, Texas, two weeks -15,000 San Antonio, Texas, two weeks 40,000 Houston, Texas, one week 15,000 Austin, Texas, one week 10,000 Beaumont, Texas, one week 10,000 Total stakes and purses 02,000 The matter of the. opening dates for several of the cities is still to be determined. Shrcveport and Kort Worth lias each planned for October 5 to 12. A reconciliation of dates is being considered to avoid a conflict in these two important towns of the circuit and definite announcements will soon be given out. Assistant Secretary Louis N. Brug-gerhoff, of the Louisiana State Fair Association, has been designated by that organization to take the matter up and arrange a satisfactory adjustment with the Fort Worth Fair Association. Dr. E. A. Flowers has been placed in charge of the Shrcveport meeting, with authority to appoint judges, starter and other track oUicials. The weeks program for Shrcveport is announced to tie as follows: Four running races daily, witli purses of 50 each; two extra stake running races of ,000, one two-year-old pacing race, with a purse of 00 and one two-year-old trotting race, with a purse of 00.
