BURNS and WATERHOUSE- SALE. For the twenty-four yearlings from their Can-deiaria Stud Farm sold by auction at Oakland race track Wednesday, .Tune 19, Burns and Waterhouse realized 1.7!.", an average of 91.40. Last year Burns and Waterhouse, because of the lack of a market in California, due to the earthquake in April, sent nineteen of their yearlings to New York and they were sold at Sheepshead Bay June 9 for ,050, an average of a fraction more than 45. By the time the shipping expenses were paid there was little left to cover the cost of production. In California the Burns and Waterhouse establishment has a certain popularity, while in the east their horses are not well known.
