Stone Street ran as if best, followed Margaret Randolph close up for the first half and, finishing gamely, came away with plenty in reserve. Margaret Randolph, away fast, showed the most early speed, but had to bo hard ridden at the end to stand off the challenge of Water Cooler. The latter closed a gap In the last quarter and finished witli a rush. Countess of Melbourne ran green and will improve. Wine Merchant swerved repeatedly. I.ensonhurst hsowed superior speed throughout, hut was sharply ridden through the last furlong, but won well in hand. Bert Osra, going wide most of the way, ran a good race and was right there throughout. Dr. Lee Huffman was poorly handled, but closed a big gap from a slow heginnlngand finished gamely. Redwood II. suffered from interference in the early stages and came with a rush when clear. Marmorean tiled in going the first half. Bardolph showed speed, but quit near the end as if short. Noel got away in a tangle and can do much better. Berryman was knocked out of any chance soon after the start. Hoprano, poorly handled, ran far below her best form. Minos, saving ground throughout and well ridden, forced or set a fast pace all the way, fought it out gamely through the stretch and got up in the last stride. Convolo, best, went a trifle wide all the way and would have won if Pickens had resorted to a hand ride in the last furlong. Bottles was gaining in the last quarter and going faster than the leaders in the last sixteenth. Gem of the AVIIdii ran fairly well and closed a big gap in the last half. Dell Leatu outfenced and outspeeded the others after faking the secoud jump, was hard held in the early stages and blundered slightly at the last hedge in the field, but finished fast and won eased up. Rejecta-ldo ran a good race and linlshecr faSt. Class Leader trailed the others far back in the earlv stages and, standing a hard drive near the end, outstayed Subador. The latter ran fairly well, hut tired near the end. Pole Vinegar fell at the stretch hurdle. The time reduces the former record for the course three-tifths of a second. Balla had much the best of the start, hut was reserved In the early stages, saved much ground when turning into the stretch and came away in the last furlong. Louise K. finished with a rush from a poor beginning and got up in the closing stride. Caltha was a forward contender from the start and stayed well in the last furlong . May Jene began slowly and, after being taken wide most of tiie trip, linished with a rush under weak handling. Moscow Belle closed a big gap in the stretch. Dora Neff showed a high flight of speed in the first half, hut tired badly in the last furlong. Gracious Dame had a rougli. trip for the lirst three furlongs and was gaining gamely at the end. Scalplock. well ridden and showing improved form, was a forward contender from the start, wore down Clyde after going three-quarters and stayed well in the final drive. Sultry, awav in a tangle, closed a big gap steadily and linished with a rush. Water Lake acted badly at the post, but stood a hard drive through the stretch and finished gamely. Miss Ilawley came from a long way back in the last half and ran a good race. Matador, in trouble from the start, showed speed in the last half. Clyde showed speed, hut tired last after going three-quarters and had run away at top speed for a quarter to a false start!
