Ben Strong is in splendid form, moved into the lead at once and, setting a fast pace, raced Bamsdale iut. defeat in the lirst half and outstayed the others in the final drive. Boserrian, in close quarters most ol the way anil weakly ridden, came with a rush .near the end and got up for second place in the final slriile. Mt-Chord, hard ridden in the early stages, went a trifle wide into the stretch, allowing Boserrian lo slip through next to the inner rail, which cost him second place. Telescope ran a fairly good race. Viperine, going wide all the way, came fast at the end. Barnsdale quit badly after going a half. The winner was entered for ,000: no bid. Vanol, favored bv good racing luck and showing improved form, followed the early leaders closely and, finishing gamely, came away in the last furlong. Lavatrina, breaking from an outer position, dashed Into the lead at once and, maintaining her speed well, stayed gamely in the final drive. Ed Kane, much the best, came with a great burst of speed in the last furlong when clear of interference, was almost thrown at Ihe half and would have won but for th- mishap. Pleasant View Belle ran a good race and was prominent for ihe entire trip. Rexall had a rough trip and finished fast. Hollow was in a jam all the way and almost thrown at the start. There was much crowding all the way. The winner was entered for SjMUO; no bid. Miss LIda, away slowly and weakly ridden, suffered from early Interference and was gaining at the end. Phil Finch tired under his impost and was sharply impeded on the lirst turn. Prince Ahmed, away well and running to his best form, followed close up to the last furlong, where, under a hard drive, he wore down the leaders md won drawing away. Goldproof broke from an outer position and cut sharply across the others soon after the start, forcing Hazelthorpe back and also impeding Colloquy, showed superior early speed, but tired in the last sixteenth. Colloquy ran a good race under her impost. Hazelthorpe suffered from interference throughout and would have been second in another stride. Piantland ran a fairly good race and was gaining at the end.
