Tom McGrath is at his best, dashed into the lead at once and, setting a fast pace throughout, was never closely approached and won easing up. Faust got into second place quickly and stayed there to the end, ran a fast, game race, but had no chance with the winner. Inquisitor closed an early gap and ran into third place on the far turn, but could make no impression on the lirst two, linishing a game third, however. Troublemaker ran forwardly and gamely throughout. Blandy closed a big gap into a fast going third. Belle of Iroquois and Lady Vincent made up much ground. Handzurr i ran well to the stretch and fell back. Guiding Star was a threatening contender at the head of the stretch, but tired as if short and will do to watch. Commodore Fontaine ran under restraint in behind the other two until St. Vohna fell, then moved up and, easily disposing of Rocket, drew away and won cantering. Rocket led for over half the journey on sufferance, but put up a creditable performance at that. St. Volma went well up to the point Avliere he blundered and fell and might have won. Colin quickly forged into a slight advantage and ran in close company with Uncle to the stretch, where he drew out into a, clear lead and Avon decisively. Uncle ran head and head Avitli Colin to the stretch and then succumbed, but kept up a game struggle and is a grand colt. Golf Ball showed the most early speed, hut Avas no match for the winner today and ran below liis best recent form. Cork Hill ran a good mile, but tired iu the fiual quarter and Avas outclassed. Brady came fast in the last quarter and got up in the last stride for third place. Queens Sovereign followed the AVinner closely to the stretch and tired in the linal drive. Thomas Calhoun linislied Avitli a rush. Banyan got off poorly, but ran a bad race. The same applies to Scallop, Avliich, however, Avas not persevered with. Cairngorm is In grand form, ran within striking distance of the pacemakers to the head of the stretch, then came on with a tremendous rilsh and finally won easing up. Tourenne made the running at a fast clip for nearly a mile before succumbing and finished a resolute and fast going second. Gallavant, after trailing unduly long, linislied with a cyclonic rush, but too late to prove effective. Temaceo was knocked back when prominent and going well, hut xecovered and finished a game and close up fourth.
