Servile, from a good start, ran in close and strenuous pursuit of Inauguration to the stretch and at the end of a long and bitterly contested drive won out hi the last two strides. Hollow was outpaced in the early running, but moved up on the stretch turn and, finishing with a rush, outstayed Inauguration for second place. The latter set the pace, fast to the final sixteenth and hung 011 gamely, but was tiring at the end. Eleanor Howard made up ground and finished well. Gaga showed speed, but failed to stay. Won easily; second and third driving. Oak Grove got off well back, but striding freely, and quickly moved into a contending position, was then reserved to the stretch and, finishing with a rush, won going, away. From a good start Barnsdale dashed into the lead and set the pace to midway of the stretch, then gave way to the winners challenge, but hold second place securely. Ida Reck closed a big gap into a fast coming third and ran a surprisingly rood race. Woodwitch was speedy, but was bumped back several times and tiring atthe end. Confessor closed mi immense gap. Heine ran disappointingly and can do better. St. Joseph made up ground. Prospero ran well to the stretch and will do to watch. Commimipaw showed speed. Lady Savjy ran under restraint in close attendance 011 the leaders until straightened away in the stretcli, then passed them like a Hash and. drawing away, won In a canter. Lillle Turner made the running to the stretch at a fast pace, gamely outstayed Cederstrome for second place and ran a good race. Cederstrome was always a forward and game contender and ran to his best form. Ostrich showed improvement and fulshed fast. Leonard Joe Hayman showed speed, but failed to stay. Holscher ran poorly. Light Wool threw his rider at the post and ran away three miles after running riderless with the other horses during the race. Flavigny trailed for a half mile, then moved up steadily into second place on the stretch turn and, challenging Woolstone In the final furlong, got up to win in the last stride of a hard drive. Woolstone made the running undisturbed to midway of the stretch and, when challenged, finished with unflinching courage under punishment. Bernie Cramer ran a good race and finished fast. Request ran well. King of the Valley can do better and so can Gamester. Sam Rice went well for a mile. Scratched 70501 Blacklock, 01; 70533 Ostrich, 112; 70534 I5elI-thu-Cat, 103.
