He was well m band all the last sKtecnth. Colonel Jack came through on the inside at the turn into the homestretch and, .after a sharp drive with George S. I Rae nursed Butwell along in the early stages, did not hurry him and reserved his effort until in the last 1 quarter, closed stoutly when called on and drew away after taking the last jump. Billy Ray closed on the R leaders with a rush when going to the fourteenth jump, but weakened in the final drive. Dawson outlasted Cardigan when it came to a drive. The latter was used up in chasing Knobhampton and quit in the last furlong. Dunbeath ran out at the first jump and Merry .Maker at the tenth, but both finished the course. Lights Out, Dacm and Tony Hart fell at the second jump.
