CALIFORNIA JOCKEY CLUB STAKES. There is- every--reason to believe that the close by Oakland meeting of 1907-S is to" surpass its predecessors in all. respects. The . .California Jockey Club has materially Increased its stake list, aud the natural result is that. entries will be much greater in number aud quality than heretofore. These stakes, except, those for two;year-olds, close for entries at midnight of Monday, andow.ners who are hesitating are invited to inspect; their conditions as printed in this issue of Daily Racing Form, aud then forward their, entries While there-is,-yet time to do so. These stakes are decidedly more valuable than those -provided by. -other winter racing organizations, and this is a factor to be considered by owners of good horses. In the course of the California Jockey Clubs meeting of 190G-7 the great sum of 00,225- was. distributed among; the owners racing their horses at Oakland. Much more than this munificent aggregate will be given in the coming meetings days. In every day of the California .Jockey Clubs meeting more money will be won by owners than at any other track- iu the west and south. That- is the point to be taken into careful account by owners. It is an" old adage that it is "money makes the mare go but it is eminently true in racing as in other affairs.
