SHEEPSHEAD BAY CHANGES. Xew York, Xovember 4. The new mile and three furlongs course, as well as the mile and five- j sixteenths out of the chute, of the Coney Island Jockey Club at Sheepshead Bay, will surely be ; ready for the next meeting of the club in June, I 1108. Xo effort will be made this winter to dis- -turb the turf course or steeplechase courses, how- r ever. They will be left as they are for the time , being. But ultimately , the turf course will be lengthened to one mile and a furlong and the steeplechase course will be stretched out to the i inner rail of the main track. . The projected steeplechase course will cross the turf course a couple of times. It is Inexpedient to fool with the grass and steeplechase courses 1 this fall because of the impossibility of getting a perfect sod for next season. The sod at Sheepshead Bay lias been carefully and tediously developed. Frank Clark worked on it for years.
