LATONIAS UGLY FIRST TURN. "I dont think I shall arrange any seven furlongs races for next year," said secretary Dillon, of I.atonia. recently. The reluark was prompted by the pell mell scramble rounding the first turn shortly after a seven furlongs start, which threatened for a brief period to tesult disastrously, for at least half of the field, but luckily ended without mishap. "You see." continued Mr. Dillon, "the riders are unable to avoid the crowding, as the track slopes to the inside around the entire turn. Naturally, the outside horses with an outside position, come over sharply. Im-iedc the ones next the inner mil and cause the mixups which apparently threaten to result iu a bfid spill some day."
