NOTES OF THE TURF. Danny Maher has signed to Tide second call for Earl Rosebery during the English season of 190S. Jockey James Mclntyre, who rode last season for Due do Grammont in France, is riding again at Oakland under the management of Frank Doss. One of the handsomest coming two-year-olds now at Oakland is Captain John, George Van Gordons chestnut colt by Yellow Tail Play full. He is. said to weigh all of 1,200 pouuds. C. E. Durnell is said to be interested in the book operated at Oakland by A. Preston under the name of the Missouri Club.. Preston is credited with standing close to Durnell when booking on the New York tracks. It is said that the spring meeting of the Ontario Jockey Club will begin May 1C, IMS, and continue thirteen days.
