HARBOTTLE UNDER SUSPICION. Toronto, Canada, December 20. The branch agency of the United States Fidelity and Guarantee Company here has sent out to all important cities of America and Europe a descriptive bulletin for the apprehension of Captain Colin Harbottle, who left this city about ten days ago with the funds of the Toronto Hunt Club, of -which he was secretary and treasurer. Harbottle was in New Orleans last Saturday, but eluded arrest by leaving that city, presumably for Los Angeles, Cal. While a heavy shortage has been discovered in his accounts as treasurer of the Hunt Club, that organization is relying upon the bonding company to locate the missing man. Harbottle was a member of the Ontario Jockey Club and other organizations in which he was well known. He held a commission in the Forty-eighth. Highlanders, and a number of years sigo was an expert bicycle rider, competing in races in all parts of the country. He raced Kuro and IIMchard Jr. at Buffalo last summer and employed J. W. Groves as his trainer. His friends can assign no reason for the discrepancy in his accounts nther than the explanation that he sometimes speculated in stocks. The Guarantee Company on his bond to tlie Hunt Club will, it is said, offer a reward for his appre-Jiensiou in a few days if his whereabouts still remains unknown.
