Barbette showed the most early speed and tired when the pinch came. May Sutton came fast in the stretch drive and finished gamely. Nick Stoner finished with a rush after getting out of close quarters. Round and Round closed a tremendous gap in the last quarter." The Belle of Mayfalr ran well to the stretch, then quit badly. Margie D. was always prominent in the running, but tired in the stretch, Kerry ran fairly well only. Old Settler made up some ground, but ran a bad race. The winner was entered for S400; no bid. Lisaro was taken wide when entering the stretch, hut rallied fast midway of the stretch, finishing with a rush under the whip. Edwin Gum, badly outpaced for the first seven furlongs, finished with a belated rush. Molcsey ran a good race but was made too much use of and tired badly when the pinch came. Arimo set a fast-pace for seven furlongs and retired. Chimney Sweep showed speed, but tired, and the same applies to Colonel Jack. Miss Modesty, off flying, showed great speed, but tired suddenly at the end. Lady Chlswcll ran well and finished like a shot. The Fog was a crazy horse at the post and would not start. Kinsman showed superior early speed, but tired and fell away fast in the stretch. Mamie Algol was badly outrun all the way. Henry O. went well for a mile and quit badly.
