The latter ran a good race, closed a gap In the last quarter and finished fast. Alsatian showed superior speed for a half, but tired near the end. Lorimer was right there most of the way and ran fairly well. Banridge began slowly and closed a gap. Divorcee, going wide most of the way, finished gamely. Eelyn S. tired after going a .quarter. Javanese forced the early pace, but seemed badly beaten after going a half, then came again in the stretch run and finished gamely. Abington, away fast, showed superior speed and put up a good performance. Flowaway closed a big gap in the last quarter. Bonart was given a listless ride and repeatedly taken back for no apparent reason, ran a bad race and can do much better. Prytanla also can do better. The winner was entered for ; no bid. Bellwether closed a big gap and was going fast at the end. Pedro ran fairly well. Refined ran poorly and was never a serious factor. Arch Oldham retired after showing a brief flash of speed and can do much better. Mortiboy showed superior speed and seemed a certain winner after going three-quarters, but tired slightly in the closing drive. Approbation, much the best, was restrained sharply and taken back for the first three-quarters, went wide into the stretch and finished gamely on his own courage. The Clansman was away poorly, but closed a gap steadily and would have been a sharp factor with an even send-off. Rebounder tired after running well for seven furlongs. Katie" Powers, showing suddenly improved form and running forwardly all the way, finished gamely and outstayed Charlie Thompson in the closing strides. Charlie Thompson showed the most early speed, held on much longer than previously and ran a good race. Lady Oakland closed a big gap from a slow beginning. Belleview ran a good three-quarters before tiring. Vincentio ran a bad race and can do inuca better. Trenola was prominent for three-quarters. The winner was entered for 00; no bid.
