NOTES OF THE TURF. John Maddens special mission in England is said to lie to buy an English sire of r-nown. Madden has Ogdcn. Plaudit and Yankee at Hamburg place now. and it may lie that he intends to set up a rival to the great Rock Sand. Trainer Dick Williams of the Pasadena Stable has lieen notified by the Jockey Club that the horses in the stable which had been barred from racing at Santa Anita Tark because they were outlawed iu that they were raced at Jamestown. Va.. have beeu cleared and restored to good standing. William. K. Variderbilt. president of the Coney Island Jockey Club, has issued a call for the annual meeting to be held at the office of the club, ."V71 Fifth Avenue. New York City. January 13. ittos. the polls to be open for one hour between 3 and i oclock in the afternoon. The transfer of stock on the books of the association may not be made after next Friday.
