Charlie Doherty forced the pace throughout and finished resolutely. Bannock Bob. from a slow inside start in close quarters, was shuffled to the tear and closed a big gap in the last half. Leonardsdale, from a tlatfooted start, improved his position. Steel Blue broke badly, dosed an early gap. finished well and will improve. San Gil quit after showing the most speed to the streteh. Erlx-rt. probably best, broke j;reen. but closed an immense gap in race horse fashion and. finished fastest of all. Lackville. from a stridim: start, was a promineif and game contender throughout. Minnie Bright, away i» orly, made up ground steadily and was gaining at the end. Coppit had a poor start. Ocean Queen and Sir Fretful were virtually left. The winner was entered for 00: no bid. Treasure Seeker beg.i.i Muggishly and was under the whip to keep up. but closed a big gap in the last half. Joe Ncalou, away poorly, ran sluggishly and was never able to get within striking distance.
