Smirker, after being outpaced for the first half, came fast when well into the stretck. l ore over on Billy Bowlegs when a sixteenth out and. after a little shaking up. held him safe in the closing strides. Billy Bowlegs, off flying, set a sharp pace for five furlongs, but tired badly in the final drive. Sparkles ran well and, in a long stretch drive, finished gamely. Orindstonc made aft much ground in ttie final quarter, finishing fast. May Sutton, Wise Child aud Ed B. showed early speed, but all failed to stay. The winner was entered for ,000; no bid.
