WEST CANADIAN RACING FAILS Californian Stables Which Wont to Alberta and British Columbia Fare Poorly Seattle Wash June 26 James Coffey who shipped his stable from California to British Colum ¬ bia in May to race over the West Canada Turf As ¬ sociations circuit In British Columbia and Alberta has returned here with his horses According to Coffey the Canadian racing enterprise has not been much of a success thus far The patronage proba ¬ bly because of adverse weather conditions more than for any other reason has been below expecta ¬ tions It was found advisable to cut out some of the smaller towns for which racing had been sched ¬ uled William Durker who sent a division of his stable over the circuit In charge of former jockey C Wright is also back from a flying trip to Cal ¬ gary with similar reports and his horses will soon return here He reports the sale of O A Blanchls mare Marvel P to a Canadian sportsman for 700
