ROLLA COLSTONS LONG SERVICE ON TURF One of the old school of colored men training horses well is Rolla Colston who has in hand the stable of F A Forsythe the Kentuckian racing in the east Colston was born a slave and was sold by Frank Harper to John Harper who owned and raced Longfellow and other famous horses years ago Colston has been raised with the thoroughbred His father handled the noted Enquirer also Kingfisher a mighty horse In his day Wanderer Springbok Searcher and others while his mother often fed and watered the great Glencoe When twelve years old Colston rode Searcher to a mile record of 141 J at the old Lexington track which was the best Ameri ¬ can mark for many months
