Deifo followed the speedy Gresham closely for a half and. wearing him down in the stretch, won going awav. Gresham showed the most speed for five-eighths, but tired in the last sixteenth. Bitter Sir came from fir hack in the stretch after overcoming "much interference. Sorrel Top was shuliled back soon after the start and finished fast. Barnsdale tired and ran a bad race. Greeubridge stood the. final drive gamely and w going fast at the end. Colonel Blue, in a tangle most of the way and suffering from interference, oaasf with a rush in the last quarter. Fabersham also suffered from interference. Mique OBrien and Dr. Mayei: had scant chance after the start because of interference. The winner was entered for 00: no bid. St. Valentine, from a slow beginning, closed a big gap in the stretch and would have been second in a few more strides. Raleigh showed speed, but quit after going three-quarters.
