The latter went wide on the first turn and lost several lengths, then finished fast and might have p won with better early fortune. Queen Marguerite showed the most early speed and set the pace fast, but Tired right at the end. Mombassa was carried wide by Fancy on the first turn. Coincident quit badly after running a good three-quarters. The winner was entered for 1,000; no bid. Scratched 77900;Cressina. 110. The latter ran sluggishly early, but finished fast and very resolutely under a drive. Sententious, outrun to the stretch, finished with a game rush. Killereen had no mishaps and could never improve his position. Effendi, off fast, showed speed, but quit badly. Merise was never a contender. Florence II. set a fast pace for a half and quit in the stretch. Enticing finished well and close up. Lady Fitz Herbert showed moderate early speed. The winner was entered for 00; no bid.
