Orby. a son of Orme and lthoda B., by Hanover, ber dam Margorine. by Al-gerine. owns the unique distinction of having won the Lnglish as well as the Irish Derby, and was beyond question a high-class race horse. He is a "Urtifullr- molded chestnut, standing well up to 15.1, possessing great power, bone and substance. Most o the nominations to Orby have been appropriated, and amongst others who are sending mares to him are Iorrt Derby, the Duke of Portland. Sir Edgar Vincent. Mr. It. Sherifte. Sir John Itobinsoii. Mr. Martin T"ltzfrerall. Mr. B. Kennedy. Mr. 1. J. Farley and Mr. P. Field. He will be limited to r tv .. "-five nares, so that those who may be desirous of securing subscriptions should not delay in making application. Mr. Crokers mares ar thirteen in number, and are an exceedingly nice 16, With the exception of lthoda B.. the darn of Orbj all are in foal, and it "niay be that this grand niacin will prove true to Clonmell after all. In the coaling season she will visit Lord Edward, II. at the Tickford Park Stud. The mares which will nay court to 0rbv are St. Hylila, by St. Simon, out of Darkness, and in foal io Parhnah: IlkkeStowh sister to Gleneskyi. In foal to Aiuericus; Little Dinah, bv Kager, out of St. Bees, in foal to Clonniell: St. lima, by St. Simon, out of Sterling Love, in foal to Fariman, and Grand Gcraldine. by Desmond, out of Grand Marnier, In foal to The Gull. There are five yearlings at Glencairn. which are very forward, and the same can be said for four foals, two of which are by Clonniell and one each by Chaucer and Cerasus. Of the yearlings" the most taking is the fine, upstanding Colorado, bv Lesterlin. out of Sabine Queen, which displavs much power, lione and quality. Probably the earliest to come to hand will be Ladkin. a brown colt bv Lesterlin. out of Pearl Set. which is built on rare lines and bears a striking likeness to his sire, whose death was a serious loss vto the Irish stud. Vast improvements have been carried out in the arrangements at Glencairn since Dr. Walter Russell assumed the reins of .management and verv likelv there is not in the United Kingdom a bettor-ordered establishment. One important addition is a fully-equipped surgery and on an Isolated portion of the estate a hospital is being erected on the most up-to-date lines.
