Coleuiel Young retained W-N.lsthorpe-. the sire of Is, nan. out of the Mc Grathiana Stud dispersal sab- in the fall of 1!i tS. and he- is now hale ami he-arty at the- age of twenty three, eloing aim lea for his owner with a banil of mares aB John D. Carrs farm, near Irxing-ton. Al Iyom-. the mare that produced Tuesdays Derby winner, is now owned by Thomas Piatt, and is on his farm adjoining that ou which Wnolsthorpe ! stands. Owner William foist beamed with pleasure when his olt Donau retiirne-el te» the stand after his triumph. William Brown, a veteran turfman of the old days, arrived from his home in Mobile. Ala., to see- Tuesdays running of the Kentucky Derby. Jockeys Isaac- Murphy ami Winkfield are the only riders who piloted two successive winners of the J Kentui-kv Derby. Murphy also mi-t with siiec-css in | 1884. when he landed Buchanan winner. Siiiims. the crack Dwyc-r rider, also achieved a double- in the race-, lent not iu successive years.
