Wilson, Jr.. president of the Saratoga As ...ciation. has given evidence ot his confidence iu the future of thoroughbred raciaa in the east by purchasing twenty yearlings from John B. Madden. The vouiigsters are from Hamburg Place iu KeatOCky, Mr. Maddeus breeding farm. The terms of the sale were private, but it is said that the deal Involved between 5,000 and 0,609. A vear ago Mr. Wilson practically nought the output of Hamburg Place, including some twenty five e/earlinga. for 0,000. John Madden has also sold nine of his Hamburg Place vearlings to William Carth.
