DALMATIAN WINS YONKERS S. C. HILDRETHS CRACK THREE-YEAR-OLD EASILY BEATS GOOD OPPOSITION. Incidentally Equals Track Record of 1:45% for a Mile and a Sixteenth — Gauntlet Runs a Disappointing- Race. 1/ New York. July ZL-MmMm, S. C HlldMith s pml three year-old. Bare furtlier evidence f his dans today when he was an easy winner of the Yonkers Handicap, anil incidentally equaled the track record fur a mile ami a sixteenth when he vent the distance in 1:4H. The track was fast. Init a half gale was blowing up the haekstreteh. bd 1 conditions were not favorable fur -record making. Mr. Hlldreth sent Hampton Court with Dalma tian as imceiuaker. hut he ran off a quarter of a mile with Ginn on the way to the post, and in the nice itself was never able to reach the front. T. 0. McDowells Huck was the one to cut out the running, and he hunt; on well, only being beaten for the place by James Griffins Czar. August Belmonts Starbottle was the disappointment of the race, for after chasing the pacemaker fur three-quarters of a mile he quit liadly. Stanley Fay, added by William Walker, went in the air as the barrier arose and thereby lost all chance. In the tirst race of the day. Ben Lomond, the favorite, was bumped and fell shortly after the start, jockey Van Benschoten. who had the mount, was badly shaken up. but escaped serious injury. Gauntlet was a short-priced favorite that failed. On liis recent defeat of Novelty he seemed much the liest of the hold, but after forcing the pace he was no match for Mr. Golightly through the stretch. The performance of Mr. Golightly was in startling contrast to his race of yesterday, when with Fair-brother up. he had no speed. G. Archibald was his pilot today. In the three-quarter mile handicap. Campeon was a handy winner over Nimbus and Dantield. Rose Queen made the pace to the stretch and then collapsed utterly. In this race Shilling, who rode Rose Queen, earned a line of 00 and sus| ension for two days for rough riding when his mount seriously interfered with King Olympian on the lirst turn. Sopulvoda won his race all the wnv and Agility scored in the dash in which Be* Lomond fell.
