OTTAWA TO HAVE RACE TRACK. Ottawa. Oat-, August 8.— Ottawa may Im- Included next year in the Canadian racing circuit, indications now pointing to the consummaiioi of plans for the organization of the Ottawa Jockey Club and the construction of a mile track on the Quebec side of the Ottawa River. Last year it was announced that the capital was to lie included in the circuit, an option having been seemed on land near Hull. When the aatl-hetting law was introduced, however, the plan was dropped for the time being. Recently there was a meeting of those interested, the legislation permitting race meetings on a limited scale, with betting privilege. Icing viewed with favor. The Option on 2 HI ncres of land on the Chelsea road Jias bee* renewed, and it is confidently expected that the track will he in operation by June 1. 1911. Hon. CM Word Siflon. it is understood, will be president of the club. Dr. Webster and other well-knov.n onVers and members of the Hunt Club being interested. A Buffalo racing authority was here recently in connection with the matter, and a meeting for organisation purposes will, it Is said, be held in the course of a month or two.
