JAMESTOWN TRACK IS READY Norfolk Va October 27 Work at the James ¬ town track has practically been completed and the fall meeting of the Jamestown Jockey Club could start this afternoon so thorough has been the prepa ¬ ration under the direction of racing secretary Fred W Gerhardy Everything is ready for the opening race next Monday afternoon afternoonThe The track 1ms never been in such excellent condi ¬ tion and the grandstand judges stand and club ¬ house are spick and span with a new coat of white paint trimmed in green greenStable Stable room bids fair to be at a premium More than 100 horses have already arrived and applica ¬ tions are coming In at the rate of from forty to fifty a day Among letters received today asking for stable room were requests from R J Walden who is financially interested In the Pimlico track at Baltimore Clint De Witt George Cornnell John Duffy J K Frayllng Albert Simons and J W Williams all wellknown horsemen horsemenA A G Weston is coming with twelve horses owned by Thomas Clyde the millionaire Philadelphian who is president of the Clyde Steamship Line Mr Wes tou will also bring two liorses owned by Mrs L A AThe The Jamestown meeting originally scheduled for three weeks will probably be extended to November 26 Never has there been such interest shown in racing in the Old Dominion and the sport will prob ¬ ably attain a popularity in this utate that it never before readied readiedManager Manager Levy expects to have more than 700 horses stabled at the track when the bugle calls tlie horses to the post in the opening race next Monday
