TRAINING NEWS FROM LEXINGTON LEXINGTONLexington Lexington Ky April 1 Special corresiwndcnce This morning was cold aud the track was heavy as a result of rain which was still falling Train ¬ ers were content to give their charges slow work 1 Tandy Hughes sent along several of his horses Supple went a half In 5i breezing Polls three quarters In 128 cantering The Grader three eighths iu 42 breezing and Transport a half in 55 breeziug It was a good blowout for all of them themThe The only member of T C McDowells string to work was KlleiiaDale which went a mile at a twominute clip clipWalter Walter Grater sent Ethelda and Old Proverb along for threequarters at a twominute gait gaitEd Ed Mooro sent his filly Biiby Sister throeeighths in 41 aud Bessie Latimer the same distance in o The latter appeared to lie partial 1 the muddy going 4 Ualcigh Colston had out his good mare Princess Callaway She went a mile in 154 hard held and her stablemate Fellowmaii did a mile in 153 can ¬ tering 1 J Smith sent Cremo de Mentho a mile In 150 which was extra good for him in this sort of going which lie is supitcsed to dislike dislikeJack Jack Baker sent Ids Breeders Futurity candidate John Guild threeeighths over the hill iu 3l The work was done handily handilyJ J C Milam had Morristown cover a half in 51 and it looked as if the horse had his oldtime speed Merrick in the same stable went seveneighths in 15 He appears to have wintered well and Is going along soundly soundlyHash Hash and Grif from tho Gallaher stable went a mile together in 157 Both were only permitted to canter and Grif acted as though be wanted to run Flex cantered a half in 55 and Uosemary was sent liveeighths in 111 She appeared to dislike the heavy going goingWoodford Woodford Clay was out to see trainer Brooks work his Breeders Futurity candidate Breaker He went a half over tho bill hi 25 and 53 han ¬ dily This colt is a brother to Ocean Bound and Mr Clay is expecting great tilings of him Mag ¬ neto from the same stable was sent a mile with good weight up in 149 It was the best work of the morning and the colt pulled up decidedly lame lameT T P Hayes asked Jabot and Earl of Savoy to do a slow mile They went the distance in 152 can ¬ tering teringW W J Young sent Hickey Bros Oaks candidate Old Woman threequartern in 120 handily J Hicks was in the saddle This filly is one of Iho most Improved racers in training here She acts as if a considerable route would be to her liking likingW W M Wallace sent U P Marshall Oaks do l endeiice Tho Widow Moon seveneighths In 135 cantering She liked the going and Wallace is counting upon her as a sure starter in the Oaks
