LATONIA MEETING UP TO PROMISE The first quarter of the Latonia meeting showed that It is living up to all advance notices and that all the good things about the nice racing to IK seen hereabouts which has been dished out for more than a month were true Some were wont to complain of the small tields during the lirst week The aick management can not help this Tin racing crelary makes up the program and though he iilay not always please some individual horsemen that is not his business Ho is there to arrange an attractive card in order to give the people who pay their money at the gate some contest something to arouse their enthusiasm and make them glad that tlwy knocked olV work for a day to get out in the open air and enjoy tin greatest of all outdoor sports Some criticism lias been made of the manner in which races have been made up but then every ¬ body could not be pleased Nearly every horseman is looking for just a little bit the best of it and is disappointed when asked to take an even break There an 775 horses at the Latonia track at the present time and the horsemen are kept busy dodging each oilier They seem afald of their shadows and the minute a horse shows he is rounding to they re ¬ fuse to enter against him Cincinnati Enquirci
