MORDE-CAI, always In closest pursuit, responded gamely to punishment and outstayed HAREBELL for second place. The latter ran on the inside for the entire race and saved ground on all the turns. SUNAMIT propped at the start. MARY WARREN ran fairly well. HEARTBEAT ran below his true form. Scratched 11G0S Penniless, 100. Overweights Sunamlt, 3 pounds. TIIELMA J. moved up with a rush on the outside while rounding the far turn and, drawing away into an easy lead, was cantering at the end. BEAU PERE began slowly and tired aftr moving un fast on the stretch turn, but was easily best of the others. FLASK also began slowly, hut closed a gap and outstayed the thing LAMBS TAIL. The latter set the early pace, but failed to stay. EL MAIIDI was shut off soon after the start. YODELING ran well to the stretch. MONTRESOI6 came again in the homestretch and, finishing fast and resolutely, was catching the winner at the end and would have beaten him in another stride. BEX QUINCE set the early pace and ran well, but was tiring and just lasted long enough to outstay ZODIAC. The latter came fast through tho stioteh. MERRY LAD raced forwardly all the way, but tired in the final drive. HANS CREEK closed n big gap In the last quarter. JIM CAFFREY also made up ground. THE GARDENER showed speed, but quit badly.
